Total Cancer Recovery

Cancer is an odd disease. Recovery from cancer doesn’t always mean a patient is completely cured of the disease. Unlike the flu, a broken leg or pneumonia, which are completely cured after treatment and recovery, cancer patients often see periods of remission and relapse during their recovery process.

Treatment and recovery from cancer is difficult, scary and often a very long process. Patients are encouraged to work closely with their doctor or oncologist to develop a treatment plan, which contains elements of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation or a combination of the three, to attack their cancer on every possible front. This offers the patient the best chance of recovery.

It is also important to remember that throughout the recovery process, it is likely that a patient will receive a diagnosis of remission only to be followed by the dreaded words of ‘relapsed cancer’ several times. This does not mean that a patient cannot recover from cancer. It simply means further treatment is necessaryRecovery from cancer is possible, but only if patients are willing to put in the time necessary to complete their treatment plan and have an attitude of hope and dedication for their complete recovery.
Cancer does not have to mean the end of your life.  Instead, work closely with your doctor, follow your treatment plan and take care of yourself.  Doing so will only increase the likelihood of a complete recovery from the disease.

Cancer recover is possible for those with the right treatment plan and attitude. If you have received a diagnosis of cancer, do not despair.  Total recover is possible.  You may actually be a worse enemy than the cancer cells that are invading your body – stay positive and recovery will happen.
