One of the things that you must do when you have been diagnosed with cancer is to join a support group for cancer patients and cancer survivors. Support groups can provide you with the support that you need in order to get through the tough circumstances. You can get encouragement, and if you need, you can build a support system.
Keeping Friends and Family Nearby
You need to keep the ones that you love close to you. They will be the ones that will go through the good, the bad, and the ugly with you. They will be there with you through thick and thin. They will be the ones to listen to you vent when the rest of the world does not care to. These are the ones who actually care about you from the bottom of their hearts. If you need them to, they could even advocate for you.
Getting Out in the Community
When you do not feel too sick from your treatments, it will be good for you to get out into the community and do things to make yourself feel useful. You can do activities that relate to cancer, or you can socialize with friends. When you get out there in the community and participate in activities, you will feel like you can make a difference.
