Can an Apple a Day Keep Cancer Away?

There are few health scares worse than contracting cancer. Cancer is a leading cause of death among adults and can affect you brain, colon, lungs and a umber of other body parts. Once cancer spreads it is very difficult to contain and is often fatal. There is a lot of conflicting information about what causes cancer and how to prevent it. Below are a few of the more common sense approaches to trying to stay cancer free.

1.) Your diet does matter- Chemicals and preservatives are to blame for many cancers. While having a great diet isn’t guaranteed to prevent cancer, a diet strong in fruits and vegetables id much healthier for you body. Try and stay will natural foods, including whole grains that haven’t had a lot of sugar and other additives inserted.

2.) Discontinue tobacco use- There is a giant warning in the pack and if that’s not enough, consider this your warning that smoking causes cancer. There is perhaps no other single cancer causing agent with the possible inclusion of asbestos. Smoking cigarettes or tobacco products is likely to have a negative effect on your lungs, kidneys, and even your bladder. Chewing any type of tobacco product can lead to oral cancer and second hand smoke had it’s own cancer risks. The simple answer is not to smoke and if you are around other smokers, try and limit that exposure as much as possible.

3.) Get your exercise- If you aren’t currently involved in any type of exercise routine, you would be best served to change that pattern as soon as possible. Even moderate exercise, or up to a half hour a day, is likely to keep your body stronger and working more efficiently. A sedentary body being filled with chemicals and pollutants is a fertile playground for cancer so get up and work!

Combining this and an overall healthy lifestyle will help you to prevent cancer.
